This 15,000 square foot building was the former home of Prince Mongo’s Planet in downtown Memphis. Memphis In May, who had always leased office space, purchased the building in 2011. Architecture, Incorporated was hired to convert the four story structure to their new home. The building, interior and exterior, was in terrible shape. It was gutted and many structural repairs were made including tearing down and completely rebuilding the rear wall. Memphis In May occupies the basement, ground and second floors and the third floor is shelled out for future expansion. The project includes offices, reception area, break room, conference room and other amenities. The design inserts modern amenities into the space while respecting the historic fabric of the building.
